About
The walrus is a massive pinniped with long tusks, whiskered lips, and thick blubber for polar waters. It uses sensitive vibrissae to locate clams and other seafloor prey, often feeding in shallow continental shelf habitats. Walruses haul out in large groups and are increasingly affected by the loss of reliable sea ice.
