


Ambystoma tigrinum
Tiger salamanders spend much of the year underground in burrows, emerging during wet weather to feed and breed. Adults migrate to ponds where aquatic larvae develop before metamorphosis. Some populations include neotenic adults that keep larval traits and remain aquatic.
