Hymenopus coronatus
The orchid mantis looks so much like a petal-heavy blossom that insects sometimes land on it by choice. White with pink accents and flattened, leaf-shaped legs, it waits motionless on flowers and simply grabs whatever comes close — a strategy called aggressive mimicry. Research suggests it may even out-bait real flowers: some flying insects preferentially approach the mantis rather than the blooms nearby.
