About

One of the most familiar frogs in Australia, the green tree frog is a plump, bright-green amphibian with a remarkably calm temperament, often spotted sitting calmly on windows catching moths drawn to the light. Its skin seeps a waxy coating it spreads with its limbs to lock in moisture, an adaptation that helps it survive dry spells by wedging itself into tree hollows and crevices. Because it tolerates people so well, it has become one of the most beloved and recognizable animals of the Australian backyard.
